Ainhoa has had a vivid imagination from a young age and took to writing early on. After her degree in journalism, she discovered screenwriting during a course in New York and found her calling. She has been honing the craft ever since, eventually working with a Script Angel coach to bring her skills up to a professional level.

In 2022 she wrote, directed and produced her first play, Inside Lorena, a comedy staged for five nights at the Bread and Roses Theatre in London, and played the lead. Her training as an actor has shaped not only how she writes dialogue, but how deeply she understands a character's wants and needs. Since 2026 she has also written and directed short films made entirely with AI, work that forces a story down to its essence.

Ainhoa takes her inspiration from the unknown. She is drawn to the edges of our understanding: how far altered states of the mind can take us, what the numbness of modern life is doing to us, and what comes after we pass.

script development

She builds worlds by working out why things are the way they are, so that they hold together on the page and on screen. She builds characters the same way, from their core wants and needs outward, and shapes each arc so that what a character wants and what they actually need pull against each other while the plot tightens around them and the stakes climb.

Across a series she thinks in one long story rather than a set of episodes, and works the structure so that every episode moves that story forward, every act break turns it, and the stakes are higher at the end of each hour than they were at the start. And she has an eye for the gap in a script, the place where things quietly stop adding up, and for the fix that closes it before the story moves on.
